Why sign up for a mock interview?
Recruiters volunteer their time to provide feedback on strengths and weaknesses and give candidates critiques of their skills so they can be ready for the upcoming recruiting season. Mock interviews with professional recruiters are held before regular recruiting each semester.
It is not necessary to interview with a recruiter from a company or industry that you have targeted. ANY recruiter from ANY company can provide you with valuable interviewing tips and advice.
Who can sign up for mock interviews?
Fall and Spring Mock Interviews: These interviews are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Current students can take advantage of a Professional Recruiter Mock Interview only once per semester. Be aware that many students want this opportunity, so please sign up for only one interview.
Special Sophomore and Junior Session: In April, the Career and Professional Development Center hosts a special week of mock interviews especially for sophomores and juniors who might want to prepare for the internship and full-time interviews that are on the horizon.
Please note that these interviews are not for Heinz graduate students or MBA students, as the Heinz College Career Center and Tepper Career Opportunities Center offer mock interviews for their constituents, and we ask that Heinz and MBA students do not sign up on these schedules.
When are mock interviews offered?
Mock interviews are offered in September, January, and April.
How do I sign up for mock interviews?
To sign up for a mock interview, log into TartanTRAK and click on the 'Mock Interviews Signups' link on the 'Shortcuts' menu located on the Home Page.
If you are unable to sign up for a professional mock interview (either because they are full, or because the available times are not convenient for you), you may request a mock interview with your career consultant at the CPDC. To do so, stop by the CPDC (lower level, UC), call 412-268-2064 or email email@example.com.
