Impress: Online Mock Interviews

The CPDC launches a New Online Mock Interview module: Impress

As Carnegie Mellon students prepare for the spring semester, many are turning their focus to their employment  prospects.  Before crossing the finish line to the job of their dreams, however, many face a daunting hurdle: the professional interview. With the CPDC's Impress Mock Interview Module, however, interviewing does not have to be  overwhelming or intimidating.  Students can practice interviewing skills anytime, anywhere using Impress's easy to use online platform.  With a laptop and a simple webcam, anyone can participate in a mock interview wherever Internet access is available-in the office, a classroom, or even your dorm room!

Practice your elevator pitch, prepare for a medical school interview, or hone your strategy for getting landing an internship.  Impress can aid students from any academic or professional background.

By simply loggin in to TartanTRAK and clicking on the Mock Interview icon on the left of the home page, students can begin mastering the interview process.  When a student begins an Impress interview, responses to various questions are recorded and stored on your TartanTRAK account.  The recorded interview may then be submitted to the Career and Professional Development Center to be reviewed by a career consultant; from there, your consultant will send you a critique of your interview, as well as tips and tricks to improve your performance and gain a cutting edge in the interview room.

To access the Impress Mock Interview Module, students can follow the link in the bottom-right corner of the TartanTrak student homepage.  Get started and improve your interviewing skills-just in time to land that dream job!
