Dietrich College Student Advisory Council
The mission of the Dietrich College Student Advisory Council is to provide a cohesive voice for open communication among students, faculty, and the CPDC. We will achieve this by establishing a forum for problem solving and continuous improvement at both the interpersonal and professional level. By fulfilling these objectives, we will serve as a sustainable bridge between the H&SS student body and the CPDC so that students are empowered to successfully plan their careers at CMU and beyond. We were the birthplace for the popular StuCo, "How to Get a Job" and we run the Dietrich College Career Mentoring program. Email: hss-career-sac@googlegroups.com to join our d-list.
Dietrich College Career Mentoring Program
The Dietrich College Career Mentoring Program brings together aspiring undergraduates in their first two years with inspiring Juniors, Seniors, graduate students and alumnae/i. Mentors in the program give an hour a week to career coaching, supporting, and giving feedback to their mentees. Mentees work to grow into a career they love while navigating a challenging course load. The Dietrich College Career SAC [link to whereever the previous write-up ends up] designed the program, runs the application process, and seeds the mentor/mentee discussions with weekly emails suggesting topics of conversation. The Dietrich College Career Mentoring Program is based on the pioneering mentoring program designed for Sun Microsystems by Katy Dickinson, which over 10 years had over 1000% ROI. If you are interested in being a mentor or mentee, please email: hss-career-sac@googlegroups.com.
