A Class Act

The end of every school year is bittersweet, and this one is no different as we must bid farewell to our 2009 ACS Scholars.
Selected by their deans and department heads, these undergraduate seniors embody high standards of academic excellence combined with multi-dimensional characteristics such as volunteerism, involvement in student organizations, participation in sports or the arts, and leadership.
Since its inception in 1975, the program has recognized 804 undergraduate seniors. This group of 40 students represented the diversity of the university's programs and demographics. They spent their senior year immersed in their individual studies as well as attending ACS events which included interaction with the ACS board and President Cohon; a forum to express their views about the student experience; and the challenge to learn about philanthropy and giving back to Carnegie Mellon.
We wish them the very best as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives and careers.
