Andrew Carnegie Society members Marsha and Ron Frank (E'69) recently hosted Ramayya Krishnan, the recently named dean of the H. John Heinz III College, and Professor Lee Branstetter for a reception and discussion about the role of India and China in the 21st century global economy.

The event brought together several top minds from the university and approximately 52 ACS members from the Pittsburgh region for a stimulating conversation that affects each of us.

Mr. Frank, who served on the ACS Executive board for many years, hosted the event because of his great pride in Carnegie Mellon. "What they accomplish is remarkable," he said.

Dr. Branstetter, the featured speaker, is an associate professor of economics and public policy and a highly cited expert on international economics and the economics of innovation. He discussed how India and China could eclipse the U.S. in economic size over the course of the 21st century, and how this could impact living standards for American families-even as it forces a radical change in America's place in the world.
