History

A committee of 21 alumni who shared the philanthropic spirit of The Society’s namesake established the Andrew Carnegie Society (ACS) in 1972 to honor alumni and friends of Carnegie Mellon. Each member of the founding committee made a commitment of $1,000 or more to ensure the growth of the university.
