Grading

The passing grade for C@CM is 75% and is based on attendance, homework assignments, the group research project and your exam scores as outline below.

Attendance

Attendance is worth 10% of your course grade. You will be given credit for attending class each day, including the group presentations at the end of the course. You are not required to physically attend classes #6 and #7 because you'll be working on the File Storage and Sharing unit within the Open Learning Initiative's online course environment. You will, however, be given attendance credit for completing the pretest.

If you are ill and unable to attend to class, you must send an email to your instructor and submit a physician's note or other documentation of your absence. If you must miss class due to an athletic event, you must have your coach contact your instructor in advance.

Assignments

Each homework assignment is worth 5% of your overall grade. Assignments must be submitted before class begins on the day that they are due in order to receive full credit. Late homework assignments will only be accepted if they are submitted within 48 hours of their due date. You will only receive partial credit for late assignments.

Although you may collaborate on the homework assignments with your groups members, you are responsible for submitting your own work.

Group Research Project

The in-class presentation on your group's research findings is worth 15% of your overall grade. The Group Member Evaluation form is worth 5%. Remember that you are required to attend the presentations of your classmates.

Exams

There are two exams, each worth 20% of your overall grade.  You will not be allowed to use the C@CM online course materials, lecture notes or any other outside resources on the exams.  You will only be permitted to use the Help features within the applications used to complete the exam.

You will be permitted to retake one exam in an attempt to improve your score.  You cannot retake an exam that you missed due to a non-university approved absence.  If you missed an exam because of a university-approved absence, you can make-up the exam without penalty.
