Providing Access to Your Blackboard Course
Automatically enrolled students
Students registered in the HUB:
Any student officially enrolled in a course that is registered with the HUB / Student Information System (SIS) will be automatically enrolled in your Blackboard course. Under most circumstances your student will be enrolled in SIS and will have an Andrew ID.
Users who may experience problems with enrollment in a course
- Students on the waiting list for a course do not initially have access to the Blackboard course site.
Cross-Registered Students:
NOTE: If the course is cross-registered, it may take up to two weeks for some of your students to receive their Andrew IDs. While your students await their Andrew IDs, you may want to allow guest access to your Blackboard course.
Students on the Wait List:
NOTE: If you have important materials that students need to see before they become automatically enrolled in the Blackboard course, you may want to manually enroll these students.
Manually Enrolling Students
- Refer to Managing Users.
External Users for whom you want to provide access
- If a student is not enrolled SIS and/or your course is not cross-registered, then you will need to request a “Blackboard Sponsored Account".
Students/Participants NOT Enrolled in SIS:
(This user type is not and will never be officially enrolled in your course.)
