Problems Uploading Certain File Types
Due to a recently released Blackboard software patch, that has been installed to maintain security and stability of the Blackboard system, certain file types can no longer be directly uploaded into Blackboard and downloaded successfully. Some file types affected by this issue include:
.html
.exe
.flv
.wma
.pub
.isf
Work-around: Zip the File
To work around this issue, first create a .zip file for these file types. Then upload the file into Blackboard. Upon download, the .zip file can be easily extracted and the file inside opened normally.
When creating a package (multiple files) to upload into Blackboard
When preparing multiple files as a single package (zipped folder) for upload into Blackboard, remember to first zip the individual files of the above mentioned types and then place the .zip file(s) into the folder along with your other files; then zip the folder and upload.
