My school's academic year does not end until after the SURP/REU start date. Am I still eligible to participate? Can a different start date be arranged?
We require all participants to begin on the same date. However, in the past, some students whose final exams continue past the SURP/REU start date have made arrangements to take their exams after coming to Carnegie Mellon. We can assist by proctoring exams on site and returning them to teachers by fax or mail.
Are exceptions made to the requirement that students be in their sophomore or junior year of college at the time of application?
No exceptions are made.
Are exceptions made to the requirement that students be U.S. citizens or permanent residents?
