Academic
advising can be one of the most important elements in undergraduate
success. In our department, each student is mentored and advised
by our faculty in a variety of ways. Every student’s
primary academic advisor throughout their training is Dr.
Amy Burkert. Students are encouraged to meet frequently with
Dr. Burkert to develop an individualized curricular plan,
to discuss course selection, to explore research opportunities,
to prepare for post-graduate work, to address any question
or concern they may have or just to get to know her. She can
be a valuable resource and ally. Her office is located in
Doherty Hall 1320. Appointments can be scheduled by either
calling 412-268-8494 or by sending an email to ak11@andrew.cmu.edu.
