Interdisciplinary
Programs
Interdisciplinary pursuits are one of the hallmarks of the
Carnegie Mellon environment. Through our unique interdisciplinary
educational offerings, such as the Bachelor
of Science and Art degree, Science
and Humanities Scholars program, or the intercollege B.S. in Computational Biology program. Our students can pursue
multiple interests in the sciences, arts or humanities as
part of their undergraduate degree work.
Curricular Enhancements
Going beyond what is required is a common trait of our students. Most of our students maximize their undergraduate experience through involvement in research and internships. A research thesis honors program in biological sciences is also offered. Many pursue additional majors or minors and some incorporate a study abroad experience or service learning.
Minor in Biological Sciences
Students from a variety of disciplines across the university
are realizing the growing importance of biology in the world
today. Many are incorporating Biological Sciences in their
curriculum through completion of a minor.
Professional Masters in Computational Biology
Students interested in advanced training in this emerging field can pursue the M.S. in Computational Biology through the Department of Biological Sciences. |
