BioSAC Presents "Phantom of the Operon"

Last night, members of the Department of Biological Sciences attempted to answer who-dunnit during the Biological Sciences Student Advisory Council (BioSAC) annual Murder Mystery Dinner. This year the group performed “Phantom of the Operon”, written by undergraduate Tim Helbig.

“Phantom of the Operon” is a tale of a research laboratory run by the eccentric Dr. Wallace. Through a group meeting, disagreements with the CEO of the laboratory, coffee hour and the murder of Dr. Wallace, a tremendously quirky cast of laboratory members is introduced. This cast includes the disgruntled researcher, Dr. Shirley Templeton (Carrie Doonan); Dr. Wallace’s love interest and CEO sidekick, Lindsey Paterson (Stephanie Guerra); and the disfigured lab technician Paula as known as the Phantom (Megan Martik).

The cast of characters also includes:
Rohit Ramnath as Dr. Leon Wallace,
Sharon Briggs as Jennifer Jones,
Steve Reilly as Steve Smith,
Lynley Doonan as Sally Davenport,
Gregory Newby as James Hanson,
Orr Rozov as Environmental Safety Officer,
Annie Shaw as Dishwasher,
and Justine Lassar as Greta Hardy.

At the end of the play, the first audience group to identify the correct suspect received a prize and bragging rights until next year’s murder mystery.
