03-391: Introduction to Microbiology
This course is an interdisciplinary course in microbiology that emphasizes molecular tools and the application of quantitative approaches. In addition to an explication of the core principles of traditional microbiology, there will be three contemporary focus areas including microbial diversity based on molecular phylogeny and genomics, the examination of metabolic networks using computer-based software and modeling tools, and understanding applications in environmental and medical microbiology.
