03-121: Modern Biology
This is an introductory course that provides the basis for further studies in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics and molecular biology. This course emphasizes the chemical principles underlying biological processes and cell structures as well as the analysis of genetics and heredity from a molecular perspective. This is the introductory biology course for all science and non-science majors.
Fall/Spring: 9 units
Prerequisite: A fundamental knowledge of highschool chemistry and biology.
Fall - Section B is for incoming MCS and SHS freshman only (Honors section). Section C of this course is specifically designed for engineering and computer science students or other students in the physical and mathematical sciences. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF ON THE WAITLIST FOR THESE SECTIONS IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS!!
Spring - This course will be aimed at students from all colleges. There is no longer a separate section for CIT students.
