Departmental Validation Tickets
Departments may purchase validation tickets from Parking and Transportation Services for their guests. All requestors should send e-mail through our website to reserve visitor parking at least 3 days in advance to ensure availability. Upon notification, departments must pick up and sign for requested validation tickets at the Parking & Transportation Services Office.
Reservations must be cancelled within 48 hours before the reserved date, otherwise, departments will still be charged and there will be no credits issued for unused validation tickets. Parking validation tickets are only valid during the parking fiscal year in which they are ordered. For example: July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008.
Guests are subject to all parking regulations; it is the responsibility of the department or the individual who arranges for visitor parking to make the parking policies known to the guests. The Parking & Transportation policy may be obtained in the Parking & Transportation Services Office or online at www.cmu.edu/parking
The parking meters and time signs on Frew, Tech and Margaret Morrison Streets are under the authority of the City of Pittsburgh and are not affected by Carnegie Mellon visitor parking.
Groups and Special Events
Departments may submit a parking request to the Parking & Transportation Services office for groups conducting special events on campus. When requesting visitor’s parking reservations for events with over 50 vehicles, Parking & Transportation Services will arrange for special parking attendant assistance at the expense of event sponsor. The Parking & Transportation Services office must receive requests, in writing, as soon as confirmation of the event has occurred (at the minimum, Parking & Transportation Services must receive requests at least two weeks in advance of the event). To make a reservation, departments must use the Online Parking Reservation Form4.
Requests will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
