WORK SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours per week
Provide nursing care to students seen at the Student Health Service.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree
or Diploma from accredited school of nursing; Pennsylvania State license as
a Registered Nurse; 3-5 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing or ambulatory
care; skills in oral and written communication, good organizational skills,
knowledge of health promotion and maintenance principles and the ability to
teach those principles to others, strong assessment skills, good listening skills
and problem solving ability; highly mobile within the clinical setting, occasional
lifting involving patients, occasional lifting/moving medical supplies less
than 20 pounds; health clinic setting; close patient contact required; required
to work under pressure and within certain time constraints; required to deal
with patients and families who are ill and under stress in a calm, professional
manner; must maintain confidentiality; required to learn new skills and apply
new medical information to practice on an ongoing basis; maintain some flexibility
regarding work schedule. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree
in Nursing, Certification in College Health Nursing; ambulatory care experience,
experience with late adolescent/young adults, women's health care experience;
Venipuncture, IV administration, CPR certification.
