The Proposed Centers Maintenance screen is made up of a header and one table with ten columns. The header, located in the top center of the screen, identifies the Department with which you are working. In Picture 7.1 above, the Department is 1803 Administrative Computing & Info Services.

Definition of Fields on the Screen

The ten columns in the table are:

  • Center - The code of the proposed center. The code must start with a P and have up to 5 numbers or letters following the P. For example, a center code may be PAC100.

  • Title - The title of the proposed center.

  • Pyr - Pyramid level of the center. Pyramid level can be restricted, designated, research, or auxiliary.

You can not create an E&GO proposed center. You can only create other Pyramid types of centers.

  • Equiv. Center - An existing center that is similar to the proposed center for account code validation purposes. The proposed Centers may or may not merge with these Centers. These centers are merged in the future. If there is not an equivalent center in the department, you can designate a center in another department provided that you have access to that department and center. If a similar center does not exist, the Division manager or higher level can create an equivalent center for you to work with.

  • FY End - The Fiscal Year End for the proposed center.

  • OH Type - Overhead Type. The overhead code of the proposed center. Default OH type for equivalent Centers.

  • OH % - The Overhead percentage of the total budget for the center.

  • Begin Date - The date the center begins operations.

  • End Date - The date the center ends operations.

  • Stat - The Status of the center. Status is A for Active, I for Inactive, and C for Closed.

  • Menu Commands
