BMARS: CHAPTER 7

Outload/Inload Interface

About the Outload/Inload Interface

The Outload Interface allows you to copy Financial Review information from B-MARS into an Excel spreadsheet that contains formulas for calculating percent changes, totals and variances. You can use this spreadsheet to enter your projections, which can be transferred back into B-MARS via the Inload interface. B-MARS will calculate variance, percent expended, uncommitted balance and totals for you, so only a bare minimum of data is required in the inload file. You also can use the Inload Interface to transfer projections to B-MARS from your own customized file. The Outload/Inload Interface offers an alternative to entering projections interactively through the B-MARS Update screens. If you have Excel the basic steps for using the Outload/Inload Interface are as follows:

Step 1. Outload projection data from B-MARS
a. Run Outload Interface
b. Transfer file(s) to your computer
c. Run Excel macro
Step 2. Enter projection data in spreadsheet
Step 3. Inload projection data into B-MARS
a. Run Excel macro
b. Transfer file(s) to your B-MARS directory
c. Run Inload Interface

The above steps are explained in detail in the following sections.
