Tartans Compete at Penn State Invitational

Oct. 14 – (STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team traveled to State College, Pa., on Friday, October 14, to compete in the Penn State Invitational as a tune-up for the University Athletic Association Championships at the end of October. The Tartans finished 24th overall amongst all Division I and Division II schools.
Junior
Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) finished first for the Tartans and 30th overall in a time of 22:22. Sophomore
Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) was the next to finish for the Tartans in 180th place with a time of 24:50.
Junior
Eva Humphrey (Asheville, N.C.) finished in 202nd place and third for the Tartans in 25:14 while freshman
Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y.) was 209th overall in 25:23. Freshman
Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was the next Tartan to cross the finish line as she did in 25:45 for 225th place.
Senior
Cassie Wallace (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) was 231st overall in a time of 25:57 while freshman
Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif.) was the seventh Tartan to finish in 237th place in a time of 26:06.
The Tartans will now have a weekend off before the UAA Championships at the University of Chicago on Saturday, October 29.
