Wobb Wins 6K at Dickinson
Sept. 24 – (CARLISLE, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior
Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) won her first race of the year at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 24. Wobb won the 6k race as the Tartans finished sixth. The team finished 14th in the 4k race with only three runners as Dickinson won both races.
Wobb finished the 6k course in 24:09 as sophomore
Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) was 26th in 24:56 and freshman
Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y.) was 44th in 25:27. Freshman
Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was fourth for the Tartans and 59th overall in 25:59 while senior
Cassie Wallace (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) was just behind her in 26:00.
In the 4k, the Tartans were led by junior
Leila Bouabdellaoui (Parchment, Mich.) in 43rd place with a time of 17:07. Senior
Lauren Sittler (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge Area) and junior
Lisa Rising (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) also competed in the 4k finishing in 17:22 and 17:33 for 56th and 65th place, respectively.
The Tartans will have the week off to prepare for their own invitational which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, in Schenley Park.
