Oct. 31 – (CLEVELAND, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team was led by freshman
Emily Wobb's (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) tenth-place finish at the University Athletic Association Championship as the Tartans finished seventh out of eight teams competing.
Junior
Courtney Baker (Fairfax, Va./Nashoba Regional) wasn't far behind Wobb who finished in 24:10.22. Baker finished the 6k course in 24:28.44 and 19th overall.
Freshman
Jackie Altshuler (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) was the next Tartan to finish the race as she ran for 44th in 25:28.06. Junior
Danielle Morse (Chicago, Ill./Chicago Lab) finished 47th and crossed the line in 25:35.19 before junior
Laura McKee (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) finished 57th and freshman
Eva Humphrey (Asheville, N.C.) finished 58th. The last Tartan to score points was sophomore
Cassie Wallace (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) who finished 68th overall in 26:41.41.
Wobb earned second team All-Association by finishing 10th overall. Her top team finish also marks the fourth consecutive year a freshman has led the team.
The Tartans will next compete at the Mideast Regional event on Saturday, November 14 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
