Volleyball Blanks W&J 3-0

Oct. 31 – (WASHINGTON, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team ended its regular season with a 3-0 victory at Washington & Jefferson College, Saturday, October 31.  The Tartans won by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23.  The win concludes the team’s regular season overall record at 17-11.

Junior Aislinn McCloskey (Lafayette, La.) and sophomore Maddie Rosnick (Fallsington, Pa./Pennsbury) led the Tartans with nine kills each, while senior Jess Brackin (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and freshman Aubrey Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-LaSalle) added six kills apiece.

Senior Sam Carter (San Antonio, Texas/O'Connor) tallied 31 assists, four service aces and six digs. Junior Cameron Griffin (Lake Forest, Ill.) also recorded four service aces to go with leading the defense with 11 digs.  

Sophomore Emily Baddock (Houston, Texas/Dulles) contributed six digs while Rosnik recorded two block assists and one block solo to lead the Tartans at the net. Senior Cara Fatigati (McMurray, Pa./Peters Twp.) recorded three service aces in the win.

The Tartans will open the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday, November 7 as they play host Chicago at 12:00 pm CT.
