Carter Named UAA Volleyball Athlete of the Week

Oct. 27 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior volleyball player Samantha Carter (San Antonio, Texas/O’Connor) was named the University Athletic Association Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Juniata Tournament Friday, October 23-Saturday, October 24.

Carter earned a place on the All-Tournament team and guided the Tartans to a 2-1 record at the Wid Guisler Tournament hosted by Juniata College. After dropping the first match 3-0 to second-ranked Juniata College, the Tartans claimed 3-2 victories over York College and Geneva College. In the win over Geneva, Carter posted a match-high 53 assists and four service aces. The setter recorded a hitting percentage of .500 against York while recording 11 digs and two block assists. For the weekend Carter tallied 104 assists, 23 digs, and four service aces and averaged 9.45 assists per game.
