Anne Bock
Assistant Volleyball Coach
The 2011 volleyball season will mark the first for Anne Bock on the staff as a part-time assistant coach at Carnegie Mellon University. This season will mark Bock’s return to coaching after coaching on the collegiate and high school level.
Bock started her coaching career at Princeton University as an assistant from 1998-99 and moved on from there to West Virginia University where she was a graduate assistant from 1999-2000. Bock then went on to become the head coach at Plum High School from 2002-03 before working with the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club as an assistant coach during the 2005 season.
Bock received her Bachelor of Science degree in pre-genetic counseling from Juniata College in 1998. While at Juniata, Bock played for her dad Larry Bock, the all-time collegiate leader in wins, for four seasons while the team compiled a 159-17 record during that span. She was part four NCAA Division III playoff teams including three appearances in the final four with two national runner-up finishes in 1996 and 1997. As a captain her senior season, Bock was honored by the AVCA as a member of the All-Region team.
The four-year standout at Juniata went on to earn her master’s degree in coaching education from West Virginia University in 2000 and a master’s degree in counselor education from Duquesne University in 2003.
Bock currently works as a school counselor for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit and resides in Murrysville, Pa.
