SAAC Holds Field Day for Local Children

Apr. 14 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - On Saturday, April 12 the Carnegie Mellon University Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) sponsored the Second Annual Carnegie Mellon Field Day. The event took place on the campus of Carnegie Mellon on "The Cut". The affair was part of an NCAA Grants Initiative. This initiative covered community service and diversity.

Forty kids from around the Pittsburgh area along with forty Carnegie Mellon student-athletes participated in the Field Day. The day consisted of a variety of activities ranging from soccer and football to obstacle courses and hopscotch. Carnegie Mellon paraphernalia was given to each kid that was involved in an activity. SAAC provided drinks and food for everyone.
