Carnegie Mellon University Athletics to Name School’s All-UAA 25th Anniversary Teams

25th UAADec. 8 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – As part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the University Athletic Association (UAA), the Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics will be announcing the school’s all-time UAA teams throughout the 2011-12 academic year. The fall teams will be announced next week.

“Carnegie Mellon athletics has a rich tradition and history. As a charter member, we join the University Athletic Association in celebrating its 25th anniversary and take this opportunity to recognize our outstanding student-athletes from this era,” said Director of Athletics Susan Bassett. “The UAA is the premier academic and athletic conference in the country.  We are very proud of this affiliation.”  

The 2011-12 season marks the 25th anniversary of the UAA, which began competition in the fall of 1987. The eight members of the conference are research institutions located in major metropolitan areas. Along with Carnegie Mellon, the universities of the UAA include: Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Chicago, Emory University, New York University, the University of Rochester and Washington University in St. Louis.

The all-time anniversary teams were chosen by a selection committee comprised of Carnegie Mellon coaches, alums and administrators. The members of the selection committee are:
