Carter Earns Second UAA Co-Athlete of the Week Honor

Sept. 24 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore setter Samantha Carter (San Antonio, Texas/O'Connor) was named Volleyball Co-Athlete of the Week by the University Athletic Association for the second time in many weeks after her performance at the Carnegie Mellon University Crossover.

Carter led the Tartans to a 3-1 mark at the Tartans annual Crossover Tournament on September 21-22. Friday night Carter tallied 50 assists in the Tartans 3-1 win over Otterbein, while recording three service aces and 18 digs.  After the Tartans 3-0 setback to #21 Capital, she recorded 53 assists and 17 digs in a 3-2 win over John Carroll.  Carter was not finished as she continued with her impressive weekend tallying 43 assists and a career-best eight total blocks in a 3-0 win over Muskingum.

For the weekend Carter tallied 176 assists, 45 digs, 13 total blocks and nine service aces in averaging 11.73 assists per game.
