Tartans Stumble in Volleyball Action
Sept. 14 - (WASHINGTON, Pa.) The Carnegie Mellon volleyball team couldn’t find the right zone against the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson on the road Wednesday night, losing 3-1 in a competitive match.
The Tartans dropped the first game 30-25 before tying the match at 1-1 with a 30-28 game two win. Unfortunately the momentum didn’t stay in the visitors favor as the Presidents won both game three and game four, 30-26, 30-21, respectively.
Junior OH Amanda Bradford (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) led the Tartans with 16 kills, while junior MH Becky Metler (McLean, Va./Kent Place (N.J.)) notched 14. Junior setter Brea Carlock (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) totaled 45 assists for the game.
Defensively for the Tartans, Bradford, junior libero Kat Fox (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) and junior RS Catie Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) tallied 21 digs apiece.
Carnegie Mellon will look to get back on the winning track in the Case Western Reserve Tournament Friday and Saturday.
