Tartans Volleyball Has a 1-3 Weekend

Oct. 22 - (HUNTINGDON, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed Saturday, October 22 in the final day of the Guisler Invitational held at Juniata University Tournament and came away with 1-3 mark.

On Friday the Tartans were defeated by the #4 ranked New York Violets 3-0 (30-26, 30-23, 30-16) and by #21 ranked Eastern 3-0 (30-15, 30-20, 30-25). On Saturday the Tartans split their two matches falling in the first match to the host and #2 ranked Eagles of Juniata 3-0 (30-17, 33-31, 30-26) before defeating Franklin & Marshall 3-2 (30-24, 28-30, 30-23, 25-30, 15-13).

Leading the way for Carnegie Mellon was junior Catie Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) who was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Carnegie Mellon will be back in action October 28 and 29 as they travel to Wittenberg University to compete in their annual Tournament.
