#5 Women's Tennis Shutouts Oberlin 9-0

Mar. 1 – (OBERLIN, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team traveled to Oberlin, Ohio Saturday, March 1 and came away with a 9-0 win over Oberlin College. The #5 Tartans are now 6-2 for the year in dual matches, as Oberlin drops to 1-3.

Play started with a sweep in doubles play before the Tartans won all six single matches to claim their sixth victory of the year. The freshmen combo of Kelly Hart (Santa Barbara, Calif./San Joaquin) and Ashley Herrick (Amherst, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) claimed an 8-0 victory at two doubles highlighting the Tartans.

In singles play every Tartan claimed straight set victories, the most impressive coming from freshman Brooke Loar (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) who won at fifth singles 6-0, 6-0.
