#5 Tartans Win Fourth Straight of Spring

Feb. 23 – (GAMBIER, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team continued their good play this spring with another victory, the latest coming on the road against Kenyon College. The #5 Tartans won 7-2 and are now 5-2 for the year in dual matches.

The Tartans swept doubles with senior Amy Staloch (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow) and freshman Jennifer Chui (Saratoga, Calif./Monta Vista) teaming to win 8-0 in the number one slot. Staloch and Chui also won their singles matches with Staloch winning 6-0, 6-2 at number one and Chui winning 6-3, 6-2 at number two.

The Cardinal and Gray also got wins from sophomore Alisa Liebowitz (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) at number four singles with a 7-6, 6-1 showing and freshman Ashley Herrick (Amherst, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) won her number five singles match 7-5, 6-3 .

The Tartans stay on the road with two contests on Saturday, March 1 against Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University at Oberlin.
