Women's Tennis Send Four on at ITA Regionals

Sept. 22 – (FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – Four Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis players are moving on to the round of 16 at the ITA Regional Tournament and one doubles team advanced to the quarterfinals on Saturday, September 22. Play continues on Sunday morning.
Senior Amy Staloch (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow) won two matches including one against Catherine Reed of Washington & Lee University 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 32.
A trio of three freshmen also advanced by winning two matches. Jennifer Chui (Saratoga, Calif./Monta Vista) defeated Caitie Drucker of Muhlenberg College in three sets, 6-0, 6-7(4), 6-4, Kelly Hart (Montecito, Calif./Santa Barbara) topped Ellen Berlinghof of Johns Hopkins in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 and Brooke Loar (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) defeated Muhlenberg College's Jennifer Powell 6-3, 6-2, all in the round of 32.
Staloch paired with Chui to win two doubles matches to move on to quarterfinal action. They first defeated Jessica Armes and Katie Miglin of the University of Mary Washington 8-6 and Minke Albers and Emily Swarr of Elizabethtown 8-0.
