Hart Named UAA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Oct. 8 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Kelly Hart (Montecito, Calif./Santa Barbara) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week in posting a 4-0 overall mark.

Hart won matches at singles and doubles to lead the Tartans to a 1-1 record over the weekend. Against Washington & Lee, the defending national champions, Hart posted an impressive 7-5, 3-6, 14-12 win at third singles and teamed with freshman Ashley Herrick (Cleveland, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) at second doubles to post an 8-4 victory.

Against Grove City, Hart and Herrick won easily at first doubles, 8-1.  Hart followed her doubles victory with a 6-1, 6-0 decision at second singles.
