Staloch Falls in Round of 16

May 15 - (FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – Junior Amy Staloch (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis team competed at the 2007 NCAA Individual Division III Women’s Tennis Championships Friday, May 18. Staloch entered the championships as the eighth seed.

In the round of 32 she defeated University Athletic Association (UAA) foe Marissa Lin of the University of Chicago 6-2, 6-1. This marked the second time this season that Staloch defeated Lin. With the victory the junior moved on to face Megan Tiegs of the College of St. Benedict in the second round. Tiegs took the first set 6-0 and then continued to roll taking the second set 6-1.

Staloch ends the 2007 campaign with an overall singles mark of 25-10.
