Iyer, Staloch Earn All-American Status
May 20 - (SANTA CRUZ, Calif.) - The doubles pair of junior Mona Iyer (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) and sophomore Amy Staloch (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow) won their first match at the NCAA Individual Women's Tennis Tournament. With the round of 16 win, the pair automatically earned All-American status.
It took three sets before the pair could finish off the number four ranked duo of Alicia Menezes and Kristen Raverta of Amherst. The final line was 6-4, 6-7, 6-4.
Iyer and Staloch move on to play Erin Andrade and Connie Shim of DePauw on Sunday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m. in California. Andrade and Shim defeated Kristen McClung and Emily Applegate of Washington & Lee 6-4, 7-6.
