Iyer Named Women's Tennis UAA Athlete of the Week

Apr. 4 - (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior Mona Iyer (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance against the University of Pittsburgh.

Iyer tallied the lone points for the Tartans in a 7-2 loss to NCAA Division I Pittsburgh. She teamed up with sophomore Amy Staloch to post an 8-5 win at first doubles, then scored the lone point in singles play with a 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 triumph at second singles.

This marks the third time this season that Iyer has been honored for her performance by the UAA.
