Evans Qualifies for NCAAs on Last Day of Nike Invitational

Dec. 1 – (GAMBIER, Ohio) – The third and final day of competition at Kenyon College's Nike Cup Invitational saw three Tartan women's swimmers compete in the final rounds and finish seventh overall.

Freshman Molly Evans (Butler, Pa.) started Saturday’s finals with a bang for the Tartans finishing third overall in the 200-yard backstroke with an NCAA “A” cut time of 2:04.71 guaranteeing herself a trip to the 2008 NCAA Championships and breaking her own school record.

Senior Anna Kochalko (Encinitas, Calif./Univ. of San Diego HS) competed in the bonus final of the 200-yard breaststroke finishing fourth with a time of 2:31.26 while senior Lauren Connell (Hasbrouck Hts., N.J.) made the bonus final of the 100-yard freestyle and finished seventh with a time of 54.09.

The Tartans finished the first half of the season and will be idle from competition until traveling to Case Western Reserve for a dual meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January, 12.
