Two Earn All-America Recognition at Nationals

Mar. 15 – (OXFORD, Ohio) – Freshman swimmer Molly Evans (Butler, Pa.) finished her first year with an impressive weekend at the 2008 Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships as she earned two All-America honors and one All-America Honorable Mention honor. Junior diver Charlotte Jennings (Yardley, Pa./Notre Dame) also competed for the first time and earned All-America Honorable Mention recognition.

Evans started the weekend with a first place finish in the consolation final of the 500-yard freestyle as she broke the school record with a time of 4:57.59 and dropped over seven seconds off her previous best time. Her finish earned her All-America Honorable Mention honors.

Jennings competed on the first day and finished 15th on the 1-meter board to earn her All-America recognition. She then finished 17th on the 3-meter board on Saturday.

Evans got stronger as the weekend progressed as she finished fourth overall in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.53 breaking her own school record and becoming the first female Tartan to earn All-America recognition in the backstroke. Her final event was the 200-yard backstroke where she touched the wall second in a school record time of 2:01.44 to earn her second All-America honor.
