Rose Named to the NSCAA/ ADIDAS All-America Second Team
Dec. 7 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior midfielder/defender
Amanda Rose (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) / Adidas Division III All-America second team, based on her performance during the 2007 season.
Rose becomes the second All-American in the program’s history; Jill Weber was named in 1994.
Earlier in the year, Rose was named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) first team, marking the fourth selection and second first team accolade. She recorded a school record 11 assists while totaling 19 points for the year. Rose ended 2007 as the school’s all-time assist leader with 35, a title she seized during her junior year. The senior was also named to the Academic All-District Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) this year.
Rose was one of four players from the UAA that were named All-America. Sophomore midfielder Caryn Rosoff, UAA Player of the Year, from Washington University (Mo.) joins Rose on the second team along with senior defender Ashley Van Vechten from the University of Rochester. Junior defender Grace Lam from Emory was selected to the third team.
