Women's Soccer Unlucky Against Emory

Nov. 3 – (ATLANTA, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 1-0 loss at Emory University to finish the season with an 8-6-2 record and a 3-3-1 finish in the University Athletic Association (UAA). Emory, ranked 11th in the nation, finishes the regular season with a 15-1-2 overall mark and a 4-1-2 UAA finish.

Freshman keeper Anya Rosen (La Canada, Calif.) had a big day in goal but a score by Maya Vankineni in the 31st minute was the difference for the Eagles offense. Rosen made six saves for the day.

The Tartans put pressure on the Eagles early forcing keeper Emily Fedeles to make two saves in the first eight minutes off shots by senior Kasey Stever (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and junior Abby Coffin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon). Coffin also had a shot blocked that resulted in a corner kick for the visitors.

Carnegie Mellon came out of the locker room with energy putting three shots on goal, all of which Fedeles got a hand to. For the game, Fedeles made six saves while keeping her shutout.
