Coffin Named UAA Co-Athlete of the Week

Oct. 1 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior forward Abby Coffin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as Women's Soccer Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 30. Coffin joins Laura Palumbo of New York University as the offensive recipient.

Coffin lead the Tartans in their 6-0 win over Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday, September 26. In scoring four of the team's goals, Coffin broke the school record for goals in a game. She now leads the team in goals and points with 7 and 15, respectively.

The junior forward became the second Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer player to earn athlete of the week honors this season. Freshman goalie Anya Rosen (La Canada, Calif.) earned the honor last week after shutting out #7 Denison University.

Palumbo, a freshman, scored two goals and assisted on two others in the Violets 4-0 win over Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, September 29.
