Tartans Start Road Trip With 1-0 Victory

Sept. 18 - (WASHINGTON, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon women’s soccer team started their four game road trip with a 1-0 victory over the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College Monday, September 18. With the victory the Tartans move to 3-2-1, while the Presidents fall to 4-3-1.

The Tartan lone goal came in the 44th minute, as junior forward Jessica Howard (Brookline, Mass.) found the back of the net off a corner kick from junior defender Amanda Rose (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West). Howard’s goal marks her third of the season.

The Tartans held the shot advantage 18-3 placing 12 on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Christie Adams (Kingsville, Md./Mercy) recorded her third shutout of the year while converting three saves.

The Carnegie Mellon women’s soccer team will continue their four game road trip Saturday, September 23 when they play Denison at 2:00 p.m.
