#7 Denison Takes 1-0 Win over Women's Soccer Team

Sept. 23– (GRANVILLE, Ohio) – Carnegie Mellon's women's soccer team traveled to Granville, Ohio for a non-conference game against nationally ranked Denison University. The Tartans' record falls to 3-3-1 after the 1-0 loss to the 8-1-0 Big Red.
Denison was able to find the net early when Jessie Birdwhistell scored an unassisted goal in the 13th minute of play. Birdwhistell collected a deflected ball and chipped it over sophomore keeper Christie Adams (Kingsville, Md./Mercy) for her fifth goal of the season.
Carnegie Mellon was able to attempt two shots, as junior Kasey Stever (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and junior Jessica Howard (Brookline, Mass.) each took one.
Adams finished the game with seven saves, as the Big Red out-shot the Tartans 8-0 in shots on goal.
The Tartans remain on the road and face non-conference member Allegheny College on Tuesday, September 26 in Meadville, Pa. at 4:30 p.m.
