Coffin Earns AOW for Second Time

Nov. 7 - (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon women's soccer player Abby Coffin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for the second time in 2006. This week’s honor comes just two weeks after Coffin's last honor.

The sophomore forward led Carnegie Mellon to a 4-2 victory over Emory University on Sunday, November 5 in their final regular season contest. Coffin registered three goals on the day marking her second career hat trick (second this season) and just the fifth in the history of the program.

Coffin wasted little time recording her first goal in the sixth minute to start the scoring. She then netted her next two goals within a three-minute span coming in the 16th and 19th minutes. Coffin becomes the first player in school history to record two hat tricks.
