Women’s Soccer Falls 1-0 to #8 Chicago in UAA Opener

Sept. 30 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon women’s soccer ended their four game road trip with a 1–0 loss to the eighth ranked University of Chicago Maroons on Saturday, September 30 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) opener. The Tartans fall to 4-4-1 (0-1-0) on the season, as the Maroons improve to 7-1-1 (1-0-0).

The Maroons got on the board early, in the 8th minute, when Siggy Nachtergaele got a shot past Tartan sophomore goalie Christie Adams (Kingsville, Md./Mercy).

Adams had two saves in the loss as the Maroons attempted six shots. The Tartans only got off three shots against University of Chicago with junior forward Kasey Stever’s (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) foot responsible for two of them.

The Carnegie Mellon women’s soccer team will next be in action on Wednesday, October 4 when they host Grove City College at 7:30 p.m.
