Six Carnegie Mellon Women’s Soccer Players Named All-UAA
Nov. 14 - (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Six members of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s soccer team have been named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) teams that were announced November 14. The Tartans landed three on the second team and three as honorable mention.
Senior midfielder Lisa Pascoli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), sophomore forward Abby Coffin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and junior midfielder Amanda Rose (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) received Second Team recognition, while defenders senior Andrea Maresca (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) and sophomore Sarah DeWath (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) along with junior forward Kasey Stever (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) garnered honorable mention status.
Coffin was second on the team with 36 points and eight goals. Coffin became the first player in school history to record two hat tricks in one season. Pascoli had one assist in 2006 coming on the game winner against Juniata College. Rose led the team and UAA with eight assists for the second straight season. She finished the season with a total of ten points. Rose became the Tartans all-time assist leader in women’s soccer history with 24 career assists. She broke the record in a 4-2 victory over Emory University to close out the season.
Stever led the Tartans with 44 points and nine goals including three multi goal games. Maresca and DeWath were part of a defense that kept the opposition to 7.5 shots per game. In the game against Rochester DeWath recorded her first career goal.
