Women’s Soccer Earns National Ranking
Oct. 4 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon women’s soccer team received recognition for their performance to date by the NSCAA Rankings committee. The Tartans are ranked 24th in the nation, joining three other University Athletic Association teams.
Carnegie Mellon earned their ranking by starting the year with a 7-0-2 record, including eight shutouts. The past week included a 0-0 tie with Allegheny and a 2-0 win over then #8 University of Chicago. Chicago dropped to 17th with the loss.
The win over Chicago marks only the second time Carnegie Mellon has defeated the Maroons. The Tartans and Maroons have tied each of the last two seasons.
The Tartans will look to continue their unbeaten streak on the road Sunday versus Washington (Mo.) University. The Bears spent the first three weeks of the season ranked nationally, but are currently not included in the top 25 and have a 6-4-1 overall record.
