Carnegie Mellon's Adams Receives Athlete of the Week

Oct. 11 - (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Freshman goalkeeper Christie Adams (Kingsville, Md./Mercy) was honored with the University Athletic Association Defensive Athlete of the Week for women's soccer following her performance for the week ending October 9.

Adams was instrumental in the Tartans eighth win of the year, as she made five saves in a 1-0 shutout of Washington (Mo.) University on the road Sunday. The shutout marks Adams' fourth of the year, as she has not given up a goal all season.

Adams and the #18 Tartans will host Brandeis (Mass.) University and New York University in UAA action on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
