Cross Country Finishes Well at Dickinson

Oct. 1 - (Carlisle, Pa.) – The women's cross country team of Carnegie Mellon traveled to Dickinson College for a fall event Saturday, October 1. The women finished sixth in their 6k race.

Senior Jocelyn Sikora (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) continued her fantastic fall season with an 11th place finish in the women’s 6k. Her time of 23:29.44 earned 11 points for the team. Senior KJ Helmstetter (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) finished in 24:18.89 and took 23rd place. Also making the top 50 runners (out of 247) was senior Carrie Mallozzi (Trumbull, Conn.) who finished 49th (25:06.86). Also earning points for the Tartans was sophomore Ashley Bakelmun (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) and senior Liz Jordan (Essex, Vt./Rice Memorial). Both ran the 6k in under 26 minutes.

The Tartan runners will be in action again on Saturday, October 8 when they host the Carnegie Mellon Invite. The women’s race starts at 10:30 a.m.
